Abstract:
5-FU increased the effect of irradiation therapy for cancer. TS-1 is an induced type of 5-FU, so it is also thought to enhance the effect of irradiation therapy for cancer patients. We conducted initial irradiation and TS-1 therapy for stage II to IV for 21 patients. 18 patients were clear this therapy. TS-1 was given at 80 to 100 mg/body/day for 4 weeks. The results were stage II CR 100%, stage III CR 100%, stage IV CR 14% and PR 86%. It was thought that irradiation with TS-1 combination therapy was effective and taking TS-1 was better than injecting patients with anticancer drug for quality of life (QOL).
