Detection of abdominal aortic calcification with lateral spine imaging using DXA

Lateral spine imaging with dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) effectively detects abdominal aortic calcification (AAC), a cardiovascular disease risk factor. This method shows high agreement with standard radiography, offering a dual-purpose screening tool.
