Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus with reduced susceptibility to vancomycin in Canada

This study reports the first Canadian case of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) developing reduced vancomycin susceptibility over six months of treatment. The resistant MRSA strain exhibited a thicker cell wall and vancomycin hetero-resistance.
