[Metastasis of large intestinal cancer to the liver. Current suggested management]

Surgery remains the only curative treatment, however the resectability is low: solely 10-20% of patients are candidates for operation and 30% of radical operated survive 5 years. Ligation of hepatic artery, systemic, intraarterial and intraportal chemotherapy have palliative value. It has been not yet confirmed that all these techniques prolong the survival rate of treated patients.
