Abstract:
The two current methods to evaluate the weight of prostatic gland preoperatively, transabdominal ultrasound and measurement of bladder neck-colliculus distance in cystoscopy, are compared in 106 patients. The correlation of these methods with the real weight and the correctness of a preoperative division in a weight of more or less than 60 g as a border line between TUR and prostatectomy are described and discussed.
