Context:

Varicocele, a leading cause of male infertility, affects sperm parameters and reproductive outcomes.
Current treatment options for varicocele include surgical repair and conservative management.
There is a need for more effective therapeutic strategies to improve fertility in varicocele patients.

Purpose:

To evaluate the efficacy of an integrated treatment regimen for varicocele.
The regimen combines surgical intervention with traditional Chinese medicine, dexamethasone, and vitamin E.
To compare the outcomes of the integrated method with conventional treatments.

Summary:

A randomized controlled trial involved 96 varicocele patients divided into an experimental group (integrated method) and a control group (conventional treatment).
The experimental group received surgery, Chinese medicine, dexamethasone, and vitamin E.
The control group received only Chinese medicine, dexamethasone, and vitamin E.

Impact:

The integrated method significantly improved sperm density, motility, and pregnancy rates (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05).
Sperm deformity rates were significantly reduced in the experimental group (P < 0.05).
This integrated approach offers a promising alternative for enhancing varicocele treatment outcomes and male fertility.
