Starkeya koreensis sp. nov., isolated from rice straw

A novel bacterium, Starkeya koreensis sp. nov. strain Jip08(T), was identified from rice straw in South Korea. This facultatively chemolithoautotrophic organism expands the known diversity within the Starkeya genus.
