Background:

Pregnancy often involves maternal anxiety regarding fetal exposure to potential harm.
Excessive worry can significantly impact maternal well-being during gestation.

Observation:

Three cases of women with extreme, persistent pregnancy anxiety about fetal harm from various exposures, including psychotropic drugs, are presented.
These women were highly resistant to professional reassurance regarding their babies' safety.

Findings:

Effective management strategies were identified and applied during pregnancy for these specific cases.
The study suggests a broader population of women may present with similar profiles.

Implications:

A multidisciplinary approach involving psychiatry, obstetrics, and other health professionals is crucial for managing such cases.
Improved collaborative care models are needed to support pregnant women with severe anxiety about fetal harm.
