Glucose-specific poly(allylamine) hydrogels--a reassessment

Summary

This study found that polymer hydrogels made with poly(allylamine hydrochloride) do not exhibit molecular imprinting. Binding affinities for sugar derivatives were similar across all hydrogels, suggesting solubility, not imprinting, drives interactions.
