Abstract:
OBJECTIVE.: A case report of lipogranuloma of the cervix with review of the literature is reported. MATERIALS AND METHODS.: In a 53-year-old woman, an incidental lesion was noted in the cervical biopsy as part of an evaluation for postmenopausal bleeding. RESULTS.: The biopsy revealed a stromal lesion consisting of fat vacuoles with foreign body type giant cells and scattered lymphocytes. CONCLUSION.: Lipogranuloma of the cervix is a rare entity of uncertain etiology that can clinically mimic neoplastic or benign disease.
