Background:

Person-centred care is a prevalent concept in nursing and healthcare.
Existing literature links person-centred nursing to therapeutic caring approaches.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop and present a novel person-centred nursing framework.
To synthesize existing conceptual frameworks and literature into a unified model.

Main Methods:

Iterative development combining two empirical conceptual frameworks.
Mapping frameworks against literature and expert dialogue.
Face validity testing through practitioner and co-researcher focus groups.

Main Results:

The framework includes four constructs: nurse prerequisites, care environment, person-centred processes, and expected outcomes.
Effective care delivery requires consideration of prerequisites and environment for optimal processes and outcomes.
The framework highlights the interconnectedness of elements for achieving person-centred outcomes.
