Summary

Environmental cues associated with eating can increase food intake even when not hungry. This study shows context conditioned stimuli (CSs) specifically increase consumption of trained food, not general food, suggesting a craving-like state rather than hunger.

  • Following conditioning, rats' food consumption was assessed in the conditioning context under conditions of satiety.
