Interleukin-1 beta-induced anorexia is reversed by ghrelin

Ghrelin, a hormone that stimulates appetite, can counteract the appetite-suppressing effects of interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta). This finding suggests ghrelin may help reverse anorexia caused by IL-1beta during illness.
