Hormonal differences between psychotic and non-psychotic melancholic depression

Psychotic depression exhibits greater hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis disturbance than non-psychotic depression. Studying multiple hormonal axes, including the HPA and growth hormone (GH) axes, reveals more hormonal imbalances in depression.
