Frontotemporal lobar degeneration with ubiquitin-only-immunoreactive neuronal inclusions (FTLD-U) cases with hippocampal sclerosis (HpScl) show significant frontal and temporal lobe atrophy. Cases without HpScl exhibit minimal cortical atrophy, suggesting distinct disease pathways.
