Technology's role in addressing Maryland's nursing shortage
1School of Nursing, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. newbold@comcast.net
Abstract:
Maryland, as other states in the United States, has experienced a nursing shortage. It is thought that the use of technology could help alleviate this shortage. A volunteer group has worked for over four years to identify technology solutions to ease the shortage of nurses. Two projects were undertaken--a grassroots survey of technology solutions to meet Maryland nurses' top concerns and a research study. The results of both the informal and formal study will be presented.
