Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Dermatopathology
  • Cancer Research

Background:

  • Cutaneous metastases typically manifest with distinct clinical signs, such as indurated papules, nodules, or tumors.
  • Specific clinical presentations can indicate the primary cancer type of the metastasis.

Observation:

  • This case report details an unusual presentation of cutaneous metastases.
  • These metastases were clinically undetectable and only identified incidentally through histopathological analysis.

Findings:

  • The study identified a phenomenon of 'clinically incognito' cutaneous metastases.
  • These metastases were not apparent on physical examination but were confirmed microscopically.

Implications:

  • This finding expands the spectrum of how cutaneous metastases can present.
