Pattern of thyroid autoimmunity in type 1 and type 2 diabetics

Thyroid autoimmunity is more prevalent in type 1 diabetes patients compared to type 2. This study found higher anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO) antibody levels in type 1 diabetics, indicating a stronger autoimmune link.
