Abstract:
Blood loss during transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) still represents a major hazard. Several methods of reducing bleeding during TURP have been recommended [7, 8, 9, 13]. In 1986, Muzafer showed that blood loss during open prostatectomy of the prostate injected with 5% phenol in almond oil solution was significantly smaller than in the non-injected group [9].
