Background:

Tracheal chondroma is a rare benign tumor originating from the cartilaginous rings of the trachea.
These tumors can grow internally or protrude through the tracheal wall, causing airway obstruction.

Observation:

A case study involving a 43-year-old male patient with a primary tracheal chondroma is presented.
The patient underwent an extended resection of the lower trachea to address the tumor.

Findings:

Endoscopic examination can aid in the diagnosis and palliative management of tracheal chondromas.
Surgical resection is the recommended treatment due to the potential for tumor recurrence and malignant change.
