Abstract:
Identifying the cells and cytokines present at the ocular surface in different clinical subgroups of patients with conjunctival allergy and inflammation has led to an improved understanding of the immune-mediated mechanisms that occur. Together with the recent advances in immunotherapeutic interventions for various immune-mediated diseases, it is hoped that some of these will be applicable for the treatment of conjunctival inflammatory diseases in the near future.
