  • Quantified adenosine concentrations using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

  • Elevated adenosine levels were found in 54.5% of patients.
  • The mean adenosine concentration was 1.13+/-0.52 mM.

Conclusions:

  • This research provides the first evidence of increased adenosine concentrations in burn blister fluid.
  • These findings suggest a potential role for adenosine in burn wound pathophysiology.
