Abstract:
Electronic medical record (EMR) implementation is a complex process depending on many factors for success. Organizational culture is one such factor. We assessed the organizational culture of an integrated healthcare delivery system prior to EMR conversion and then at 12, 24 & 36 months post-conversion. Contrary to our hypothesis, findings suggest that the perceived organizational culture has become more, rather than less, hierarchical. This poster presents a subset of findings from our four-year, observational project.
