Is Chlamydia pneumoniae a risk factor for peripheral atherosclerosis?

Chlamydia pneumoniae infection may be a risk factor for peripheral atherosclerosis. Treatment targeting this infection, alongside antiplatelet therapy, improved clinical outcomes and ankle-brachial index in patients.
