Main Results:

  • Malignant lymph nodes were significantly associated with round shape (p < 0.001) and peripheral perfusion (p = 0.0089).
  • Malignant nodes exhibited a statistically significant shorter contrast medium wash-in time (p = 0.0487).
  • Contrast-related criteria did not enhance the pretherapeutic prediction of malignancy.

Conclusions:

  • CEUS with computer-assisted analysis provides statistically significant criteria for identifying malignant lymph nodes, such as shape and perfusion patterns.
  • Despite identifying new criteria, differentiating malignant from inflammatory lymph node changes remains a diagnostic challenge.
