Telomeric DNA localization on dinoflagellate chromosomes: structural and evolutionary implications.

Telomeres, protective chromosome caps, were found at the ends of dinoflagellate chromosomes, even without histones. This discovery supports the linear structure of these unique eukaryotic microalgae chromosomes.
