Observation:

  • A 60-year-old female patient presented with abdominal pain and a sigmoid mass identified via computed tomography (CT) scan.
  • Surgical exploration revealed a subserosal hemorrhagic mass in the sigmoid colon.

Findings:

  • Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of sigmoid colon angiosarcoma.
  • The patient experienced disease recurrence with distant metastasis and unfortunately expired approximately 4 months post-diagnosis.

Implications:

  • Gastrointestinal angiosarcoma is characterized by its aggressive nature and poor prognosis.
