  • Cytotoxicity assays (e.g., MTT assay) to determine ED50 values.
  • Main Results:

    • Two new flavonoid glycosides (1, 2) and a new diterpenoid (andrographic acid, 3) were isolated and characterized.
    • Andrographidine A (4) was also identified.
    • Andrographolide and isoandrographolide exhibited significant cytotoxicity against KB cells with ED50 values of 6.5 and 5.1 μg/mL, respectively.
    • Compounds 1, 2, 3, and 4 did not show significant cytotoxicity.

    Conclusions:

    • Andrographis paniculata is a rich source of novel bioactive phytochemicals.
    • Andrographolide and isoandrographolide possess notable cytotoxic properties, suggesting potential as anticancer agents.
    • Further research into the mechanism of action and therapeutic potential of these compounds is warranted.
