Meta-analysis comparison of open versus percutaneous tracheostomy

This meta-analysis found percutaneous tracheostomy to be more cost-effective, with a trend toward fewer complications than open tracheostomy. While some complications like obstruction were higher, wound infections and scarring were lower with the percutaneous method.
