Serum amyloid A (SAA) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels are significantly elevated in pre-eclampsia compared to normal pregnancy. These increased inflammatory markers may play a role in the development of pre-eclampsia.

- The inter-relationship between SAA and CRP suggests a role for inflammation in pre-eclampsia pathogenesis.
- These findings highlight SAA and CRP as potential contributors to the inflammatory processes underlying pre-eclampsia.
