Does noncomplicated acute appendicitis cause bacterial translocation?

Noncomplicated acute appendicitis did not significantly increase bacterial translocation in children. This suggests routine antibiotic prophylaxis may not be necessary for these patients, potentially reducing unnecessary medication.
