Is abdominal wall contraction important for normal voiding in the female rat?

Abdominal wall contractions are essential for normal rat voiding, aiding urine flow and pressure. Eliminating this Voiding-associated Abdominal Response (VAR) significantly reduced voided volume and flow rate.
