Background:

  • Inflammatory pseudotumor is a non-neoplastic proliferation of inflammatory cells.
  • Typically presents as a solitary, benign lesion, often incidentally discovered.
  • Can occur in various body sites, with pulmonary involvement being common.

Observation:

  • A 51-year-old male incidentally found to have a solitary pulmonary nodule.
  • The nodule was surgically resected and diagnosed as inflammatory pseudotumor.
  • The patient later developed contralateral lung and aggressive cervical tumors.

Findings:

  • The development of secondary tumors in the lung and cervix following a primary inflammatory pseudotumor diagnosis is highly unusual.
  • This specific association (pulmonary and cervical tumors) has not been previously reported in medical literature.
  • Histopathological analysis confirmed the nature of the lesions.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the potential for inflammatory pseudotumor to be associated with aggressive secondary malignancies.
