Findings:

  • The patient experienced nonconvulsive status epilepticus lasting over 7 days.
  • Electroencephalography showed generalized polyspike-wave complexes during the event.
  • Histopathology confirmed cortical dysplasia in the resected frontal lobe.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the potential for focal cortical dysplasia to trigger generalized nonconvulsive status epilepticus.
