Abstract:
A chemical investigation of Didymocarpus pedicellata has resulted in the isolation of 8-hydroxy-5, 6, 7-trimethoxy-flavanone, 2'-hydroxy-4', 5', 6'-trimethoxychalcone, 5, 6, 7, 8-tetramethoxy flavanone, pedicellin, methyl pedicin and beta-sitosterol. 8-Hydroxy-5, 6, 7-trimethoxy flavanone and 2'-hydroxy-4', 5', 6'-trimethoxy chalcone are hitherto new natural products while 5, 6, 7, 8-tetramethoxy flavanone has been isolated from D. pedicellata for the first time.

Types of Step-Growth Polymers: Polyesters
Polyesters are commonly prepared from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol; the crude product is known as poly(ethylene terephthalate) or PET. However, polyesters are synthesized industrially by transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate with ethylene glycol at 150 °C. The two reactants and the polymer...

Conformation
The simplest example of a diene is 1,3-butadiene, an acyclic conjugated π system. At room temperature, the molecule exists as a mixture of s-cis and s-trans conformers by virtue of rotation around the carbon–carbon single bond. Although the s-trans isomer is more stable, the...
