Auditory event-related potentials (ERPs) cannot reliably differentiate between generalized tonic-clonic seizures (GTCS) and syncope after an event. Further research is needed to explore other methods for distinguishing these conditions.

- No statistically significant differences were observed in the latencies of P3, N2, P2, and N1 between patients who experienced GTCS and those who experienced syncope.
- Similarly, no significant differences were found in the amplitudes of P3, N2, and P2 between the two groups in either recording session.
Conclusions:
- Post-event auditory ERPs are currently insufficient for differentiating between GTCS and syncope.
- Further research is required to explore different post-event intervals and ERP paradigms to potentially improve diagnostic accuracy.
