Antioxidant supplementation and immunoendocrine responses to prolonged exercise

Antioxidant supplementation blunts cortisol response to prolonged exercise but does not affect IL-6 or neutrophil function. This study investigated vitamin C and E effects on exercise-induced immunoendocrine changes.

- Antioxidant supplementation was not effective in modulating exercise-induced neutrophilia or the depression of neutrophil function.
