Fenofibrate increases high molecular weight adiponectin in subjects with hypertriglyceridemia

Fenofibrate treatment improved lipid profiles and increased high molecular weight adiponectin in hypertriglyceridemic men. However, it did not affect insulin sensitivity or visfatin levels.

- Further research is needed to determine if the fenofibrate-induced increase in HMW adiponectin translates to improved insulin sensitivity.
