Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate ethnic differences in nociceptive processes using the nociceptive flexion reflex (NFR).
  • To compare NFR thresholds and pain perception between African American and non-Hispanic white adults.

Main Methods:

  • Assessed nociceptive flexion reflex (NFR) thresholds in healthy African American (n=29) and non-Hispanic white (n=28) young adults.
