Does topical N-acetylcysteine application after myringotomy cause severe otorrhea?

Topical N-acetylcysteine (NAC) did not accelerate tympanic membrane perforation healing in guinea pigs. In fact, NAC treatment was associated with delayed healing and increased instances of otorrhea, suggesting potential adverse effects.
