The American Red Cross: a nursing-oriented overview of services
Journal of Emergency Nursing
|December 1, 1991
Abstract:
Nurses are at the heart of many Red Cross services. Their expertise is recognized and often sought throughout the organization. Nurses can, through active participation and personal donation, assist the agency in reaching its humanitarian goals. The resources, services, and assistance available through the Red Cross give the busy emergency nurses more options in meeting the needs of patients. Nurses in turn can be a resource for the Red Cross. The strength, support, and commitment of dedicated volunteers give meaning to the endeavors of the American Red Cross.
