Mechanical Ventilation Boot Camp Curriculum

Abstract:
This article presents ECRI's purchasing guidance for 11 currently marketed portable/transport ventilators from six suppliers. We highlight-and update-some of our key findings for three models that we had previously evaluated, and we compare these products with eight additional models that are now available, but that have not been subjected to ECRI's full evaluation protocol. Specifically, we compare ventilator features and specifications and describe which models are the most appropriate to consider for (1) home-care/long-term-care settings and (2) in-hospital transport.
