    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To review clinical and electromyographic findings in patients with peripheral nerve damage post-total hip arthroplasty.
    • To prospectively evaluate nerve-conduction findings before and after hip arthroplasty.
    • To identify potential predisposing factors and the prognosis of nerve injuries.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective review of 14 patients with nerve damage after 2,012 total hip arthroplasties.
    • Prospective study of 28 patients undergoing 30 total hip arthroplasties, including pre- and post-operative assessments.
