Effect of rapamycin on wound healing: an experimental study

Summary

Rapamycin (RAPA) treatment was found to delay wound healing in rats by reducing inflammation, angiogenesis, and myofibroblast proliferation. This immunosuppressive effect ultimately decreased the tensile strength of surgical closures.
