Abstract:
Psychogenic parasitosis is a debilitating disorder that is typically easy to recognize and difficult to treat. Some of these patients will have a shakable belief in infestation, while others will have a true delusion. Primary care physicians and dermatologists can play an important role in evaluating and categorizing these patients, initiating treatment, and helping them to get the psychiatric care that they need.
