Abstract:
Recovery from severe mental illness has become an increasingly relevant concept in the mental health field. Today, recovery orientation has already been introduced into mental health service provision in numerous countries. However, there is still confusion about both the theoretical concept as well as its practical implications. In this paper, we present a narrative literature review, illustrating the concept of recovery from different perspectives, outlining the related concept of resilience, and highlighting some practical issues of recovery orientation in mental health service provision.
