T-cell cytokines affect mucosal immunoglobulin A transport

Interferon gamma (IFN-gamma) and interleukin-4 (IL-4) significantly enhance secretory IgA (sIgA) transport across intestinal cells. Combining these cytokines maximally boosts sIgA transcytosis, supporting mucosal immunity.

- The combination of IFN-gamma and IL-4 synergistically increases IgA transcytosis.
- Targeted delivery of these cytokines to mucosal surfaces could bolster local antibody defense and prevent infections.
