  • Treatment for ECD remains controversial, with limited established therapeutic guidelines.
  • Bone involvement is a common and debilitating manifestation of ECD.

Observation:

  • A 42-year-old female presented with bilateral leg pain and fever.
  • Initial steroid therapy provided only temporary relief for her symptoms.
  • Progressive bone pain in the right femur necessitated further intervention.

Findings:

  • The patient was diagnosed with Erdheim-Chester disease via bone biopsy.
  • A trial course of radiation therapy (18 Gy in 10 fractions) was administered to the right distal femur.
