Summary
The monoclonal antibody KP1, recognizing CD 68 antigen, showed positive tumor cells in most melanomas but also in some benign proliferations. This suggests KP1 aids melanoma diagnosis but may cause confusion with histiocyte-macrophage neoplasms.
