Summary

Laparoscopic trans-abdominal pre-peritoneal (TAPP) inguinal hernia repair is effective and cost-efficient in NHS hospitals. This specialized technique allows most patients to be treated as day-cases, with a low recurrence rate.

  • Majority of patients suitable for day-case procedures.
  • Low recurrence (0.36%) and morbidity rates support routine use for groin hernias.
